1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Tenth Lane LLC (“Tenth Lane,” “we,” “us”), an Illinois limited liability company, handles information when you visit tenthlane.com or use the Day Dancer web app (together, the “Services”). It does not cover work we do for clients under a separate agreement; that agreement controls how client data is handled.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Update list. If you sign up for Day Dancer updates, we collect your email address, the optional note you write about how you’d use Day Dancer, your agreement to receive emails, and the date and time you signed up.
  • Messages. If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write.

Information collected automatically

  • Country. When you join the update list, we record the country your connection comes from. We work it out from your IP address at that moment, but we do not store the IP address with your signup.
  • Technical request data. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information about each request to deliver and protect the site, including your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, and the date and time. We keep short-term logs of this information to find errors and stop abuse.

We do not use analytics tools, advertising tools, or tracking pixels on this site.

Information that stays on your device

Day Dancer stores your tasks, time estimates, and finished items in your browser’s local storage on your device. This information is never sent to us, and we cannot see, access, or recover it.

Fonts

This site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. To deliver them, your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and browser information. Google’s use of that information is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

We do not collect Social Security numbers, financial account or payment card numbers, precise location, health information, or biometric information.

3. How we use information

  • To send the Day Dancer update emails you asked for.
  • To reply to messages and requests.
  • To understand, in general terms, how people want to use Day Dancer and where our users are.
  • To keep the Services working and secure, including preventing spam signups and abuse.
  • To comply with the law and protect our rights.

We do not use your information for targeted advertising, and we do not make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

4. AI features

Day Dancer’s AI day planning is not available yet, and no task information is currently sent to any AI provider. When AI planning launches, the task names and time estimates you choose to plan will be sent to a third-party AI provider to create your schedule. Before launch, we will update this policy to name the provider and explain how it handles your information, and we will tell you in the app before anything is sent. Please do not put sensitive personal information in task names.

5. How we share information

We share personal information only as described here:

  • Service providers who work on our behalf under contract and may use the information only to provide their services to us: Cloudflare, Inc. (website hosting, database, and security) and, when we send update emails, our email delivery provider.
  • Legal reasons, when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, subpoena, or court order, or is needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of Tenth Lane, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers, if Tenth Lane is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. The information would remain subject to this policy, and we would notify you before it became subject to a different one.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are used in state privacy laws. We do not give your information to other companies for their own marketing.

6. Cookies, local storage, and tracking signals

We do not set cookies on this site. Day Dancer uses your browser’s local storage only to keep your tasks on your device. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie in rare cases, such as when it checks whether a visitor is a bot.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. We do not track you across other websites, sell your information, or use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing for these signals to turn off. If our practices ever change, we will treat a Global Privacy Control signal as a request to opt out of sale and targeted advertising.

7. How long we keep information

  • Update list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until we close the list, whichever comes first. When you unsubscribe, we delete your record within 10 business days, usually right away.
  • Emails you send us: as long as needed to answer you and keep a record of the conversation, generally no more than two years.
  • Technical logs: a few days, unless we need them longer to investigate a security problem.

Deleted information may remain in our hosting provider’s routine backups for up to 30 days before it is permanently removed.

8. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), a database that is not publicly accessible, and access limited to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If a security breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law, including the Illinois Personal Information Protection Act.

9. Your choices and rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • Stop emails. Use the unsubscribe link in any update email, the unsubscribe page, or email us. We honor requests within 10 business days.
  • See the personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it.
  • Correct information that is wrong.
  • Delete your personal information.

To make a request, email support@tenthlane.com from the address you signed up with, or tell us that address. To protect your information, we may confirm the request by replying to that address. We respond within 45 days. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying with “Appeal” in the subject line, and we will respond to the appeal within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

U.S. state privacy laws. Depending on where you live, a state privacy law may give you some of these rights. Many of those laws apply only to businesses above certain size thresholds, but we honor the requests above for everyone.

California residents. You can review and request changes to your information as described above. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

10. Visitors outside the United States

We are based in the United States, and your information is processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland:

  • We process your update-list information based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by unsubscribing. We process technical data and messages based on our legitimate interests in running a secure website and answering people who contact us.
  • You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal information, and to receive it in a portable format.
  • You can complain to your local data protection authority.

Where required, our service providers protect transferred information with safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

11. Children

The Services are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

12. Illinois residents

We do not collect, store, or use biometric identifiers or biometric information, such as face geometry, fingerprints, or voiceprints. If we ever offer a feature that does, we will give the written notice and obtain the written consent required by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act before collecting anything.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date. If a change is material, we will also post a notice on the site and, if you are on the update list, email you before the change takes effect.
